Make Your Aquarium
Part of Something Bigger

At The Eastern Aquatic Society, fishkeeping can be more than a rewarding hobby. Through our C.A.R.E.S., Breeders Award Program and Aquatic Horticultural Achievement Program, members can support conservation, develop practical skills, share their successes and take on new challenges. Every project is a chance to learn—and another step toward recognition among your fellow aquarists.

C.A.R.E.S.

29 CARES species represented in our club Based on the latest imported CARES tracking records for eligible TEAS members. Each species counted once across the club.

Conservation, Awareness, Recognition, Encouragement and Support. The C.A.R.E.S. initiative brings aquarists together around fish species that need special attention and responsible long-term care. By keeping and documenting eligible species, hobbyists can help maintain awareness of species of concern and encourage responsible stewardship within the aquarium community.

How it works

  • Explore the current C.A.R.E.S. species list and learn about eligible species.
  • Keep suitable species responsibly and maintain accurate records of your fish and colonies.
  • Complete official C.A.R.E.S. registration separately; TEAS records help the club track participation, while official verification remains with C.A.R.E.S.

Your challenge

Put conservation into practice. Build your knowledge, contribute to the club’s conservation efforts and work toward recognition for your participation.

BAP

Breeders Award Program. BAP celebrates the skill, patience and curiosity involved in successfully breeding eligible aquatic species. From a first successful spawn to more ambitious breeding projects, members can turn their tanks into opportunities to learn about life cycles, husbandry and responsible propagation.

How it works

  • Choose an eligible species from the program directory and plan a suitable breeding project.
  • Successfully breed the species and submit the required record through Aquarist Species, following its program requirements.
  • Eligible results and points are reflected through the program’s tracking process and can contribute to your TEAS standing.

Your challenge

Expand your breeding list, take on new species and see how your achievements stack up over the season. Every successful project is both a personal milestone and a way to share knowledge with fellow members.
